New York Bagel in Penn State

This is not the perfect way to start any conversation and most probably I will sound as arrogant as I ever will be but anyone who tells you that they love bagels but never eaten NYC bagels is delusional, I am sorry for all my San Francisco friends who love Noah’s Bagels…

Having lived in New York in my early 20s I can easily say there is no other alternative when it comes to bagels and pizza. I will sacrifice myself for you to try a local pizza shop in Philly however until that day I am confident I found the best bagel shop in Pennsylvania: Grand Central Bagel Shop.

Little background story for today: me and my husband did a quick exploration in Lancaster early in the morning as I had some properties I wanted to check out at Hamilton Road. It was around the lunch time when we had finished our little investigation. I am sure you are familiar with the feeling; you are not really hungry to eat but if you don’t eat within the next 15 minutes you will starve and die.

Since we did not have our daily dose of our toasted bagel this morning, I quickly Yelped some bagel shops around the area being certain it was a hopeless search. To my surprise Grand Central Bagel Shop was just 9 minutes away with impressive Google reviews and mesmerizing photos.

Well, as I’ve said before reviews do not help in our case as we lived in bagel heaven but we took a chance anyway. I am so glad we did! Photos I will share in a second are from their Instagram page as I literally did not have any idea that they could be this close to NY bagel. I did not even bother taking out my camera and it was too late when the idea occurred to me since I finished my sun dried tomato bagel under 2 minutes. Also, who eats sun dried tomato bagel right? I mean I cannot imagine how delicious their plain or pumpernickel bagel would be. Unfortunately, I had to stick with sun dried tomato because all my favs were gone for the day and since being adventures today I said why not. I suggest you to drop by as early as you can since some of the options were not available.

My husband had the Carnegie Hall Pastrami with everything bagel. I took a sample bite and angels started to sing. He was also one happy man…

Anyhow, if you are ever in the area please do yourself a big favor and save yourself from a visit at NYC. Try this shop. I promise you won’t regret it!
